Live life happy.
One part chemical engineer,
One part teacher,
Two parts yogi,
Three parts normal human being,
And, a dash of mystic.
Penny Clum offers programs that help people to find happiness in this very moment and to create meaningful change in their everyday lives. The tools Penny draws upon are a unique assemblage that she has cultivated in her professional life and discovered along her own spiritual journey.
Penny’s primary spiritual teacher, Gurudev (Yogi Amrit Desai) gave her the name Kusum (it rhymes with ‘assume’) which means ‘flower’ or ‘flowering’. To Penny personally, this name has grown to represent her inner self, that part of her that sees the big picture and walks with a sense of connection and balance. The Kusum Institute and Penny’s programs are the vehicles through which she can share what she’s learned from her teachers regarding yoga, health and shifting perception to foster more awareness and ease blossoming in our lives and in our world.
Our experience of life doesn’t have to improve randomly. Learn the philosophies and science on which yoga practice is based and you will learn how to predictably create movement into more contentment in your everyday life. By healing and easing tension in our physical bodies and by quieting the noise and repetitive reactions and stories in our minds, every human has the ability to fall into happiness. We’re wired that way! And, we end up creating the the ‘Owners Manual for the Human Body and Mind’ that we forgot to pick up before we came here in this life.
These programs are thoughtfully crafted presentations of the science, psychology, Ayurveda, wellness techniques, energy based work and ancient philosophies that are the underpinnings to what you are doing on your mat. All of the information is summarized for you in a concise and clearly understandable way so that you can begin to immediately live with more clarity and ease.
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
